Mako Kushima
Tokyo Waseda Foreign Language School Principal
We provide educational programs for students aiming for higher education in Japan. Studying in Japan requires not only improving Japanese language proficiency, but also deepening understanding of Japanese society and culture, as well as developing academic thinking skills. For this reason, our school has established a curriculum to cultivate these abilities, and our faculty and staff work together to provide personalized learning support and career guidance to each and every student.
We have also installed electronic whiteboards in all classrooms and incorporated ICT-based instruction, creating a comfortable and effective learning environment for both students and teachers alike.
Furthermore, in order to provide high-quality education, it is also essential that the faculty and staff who support students' learning have a fulfilling work environment. We value teamwork, continually engage in training and process improvement to develop our skills, and promote the creation of a supportive and easy-to-work-in environment.
A Japanese language school is a place where people with various goals gather, learn together, and grow. The faculty and staff of Tokyo Waseda Foreign Language School will continue to sincerely consider what we can do for our students, and remain fully committed to each and every one of them.
Our Foundation
Tokyo Waseda Foreign Language School was founded on Christian values.
Philosophy & Mission
What We Aim to Achieve Through Japanese Language Education
We aim to contribute through language education to nurturing individuals who possess intellect, sensitivity, and rationality — people who can play active roles in the international community and, with a humble heart, dedicate themselves to the well-being of others and society.
Educational Goals
Three pillars that guide our educational approach
Cultural Collaboration
To foster learners who respect different values and can collaborate in learning with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Practical Application
To nurture learners who acquire Japanese language skills not just for entrance exams but also for practical use in their future academic studies and research.
Autonomous Learning
To develop learners who can continue learning autonomously and persistently toward achieving their personal goals.
